Friday Funnies

Today's topic? Coffee!

So for the coffee swillers amongst us ~~

You might be drinking just a liiiiittle too much if:

  • You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.
  • The only time you're standing still is during an earthquake.
  • Your eyes stay open when you sneeze.
  • The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.
  • You can type sixty words per minute with your feet.
  • You can jump-start your car without cables.
  • You don't sweat, you percolate.
  • Instant coffee takes too long.
  • You have a picture of your coffee mug on your coffee mug.
  • You help your dog chase its tail.
  • Your first-aid kit contains two pints of coffee with an I.V. hookup.

Nah, there's really no such thing as "too much," so go have a cuppa on me!

Thanks Angie for the insight into my addiction. I have been on a coffee IV drip for years. I have my mugs stationed all over the house and I'm seldom without my favorite brew.

Hey, giddy/Jenni! Since you're over there in the Queen's area, I betcha drink tea, hunh? :)

JyLnC, we're twins in the java dept!

Hi, VM. Looking for a vein, ma'am! (Are you opposed to snorting the crushed beans?) :)

I do sneeze with my eyes open and I never knew why until now. Thanks!

This is very cute! :-)

When I was young, I always wanted to be like my dad. He told me if I drank coffee, it would grow hair on my chest.

That didn't happen--thank goodness, but I drink about 50 cups a day! :)

Angie Ledbetter said...

LOL, Becca!

Thanks, Jessica.

Robyn, maybe you should switch brands, b/c your dad's warning worked for me. :) I drink tons too. We must have dead metabolisms. :)

I'm strictly a tea drinker. Notice I did not say tea totaler.

Thank goodness I don't have to worry about any of those things on the list--pass me some water please.

Doesn't everyone jump start their car without jumper cables? I'm a coffee addict! And I just noticed that the picture in your header changes on a daily basis. Yesterday--tobasco sauce! Love it!

I DO grind my coffee with my teeth! Chocolate-covered coffee beans.. YUM! Thanks for the pre-coffee laugh. :)

Angie Ledbetter said...

LOL, Debbie. I'm making a note.

Terri, you're a healthy girl!

:) waving at ya, Janna.

Jill, I don't need jumper cables because of that skill. (And about the header...I've been experimenting the last day or two!) :)

Oh, Hilary, I dearly adore chocky beans!

Carrie Wilson Link said...

Appropriately enough, I'm drinking coffee while reading this!

These are good! I made the mistake one day of washing down chocolate covered coffee beans with a Coke. Needless too say I was very hyper all day.

Angie Ledbetter said...

*clink* My mug to yours, Carrie. :)

Brian, I bet you were buzzing. LOL

Couldn't live without my coffee, either. I got hooked, as a child, when I would start my day with coffee-milk. Love the jokes!

Melissa Amateis said...

Love the smell of coffee, hate the taste. ;)

Regina said...

Oh, I miss my coffee!
I've gone off it for a bit just because... I think I need to slow myself down a bit...
but this was great, Angie!
:)

Angie Ledbetter said...

Marguerite, me too, girl.

Sorry for ya really, Melissa. :)

Red Bird, let me know how that experiment goes. I've cut back myself too, and it's hard, isn't it?

I love this! Thanks for the laugh!

We have a melt down in our house if we run out of our favorite coffee beans. We discovered an excellent company in New Mexico called Pinon, and it is like Heaven. It's worth the price and the postage.

We also use a French coffee press; gets rid of the acid. Yummy!

In fact, i believe coffee will be the drink at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb!

This is why I drink tea. Thanks for the laughs!!!!

LOL, Jen! You sure you're not a Louisianian?

Schube, ummm, the "wiring" effects sometimes work just the opposite when one is a bit hyper to begin with. :)

I LOVE this. I can't stop laughing. I'm hopelessly addicted to the stuff. Thanks for making me laugh.

This made me feel so much better : )

I started with a new doctor yesterday, and she told me to lay off the coffee. It was painful to hear (and will be painful to try) : (

I could not live without my ten cups a day. Without it, I would have to be jump started and have the rock moved mechanically removed.

Nothing like the de-caf headache. Wish I could drink less, but not anytime soon. Cafe-au-lait and fingers at Coffee Call. A must see.

Oh, this is funny! Really funny! Thanks for sharing a great "belly laugh", I needed that. That used to be me, I've had to learn to be satisfied with one cup a day, so I savor that one.

colbymarshall said...

IV hookup...hahahaha- you know you're a coffee holic when you mainline the stuff ;-)

Angie Ledbetter said...

B.J., I often wonder if the caffeine addiction goes with writing? :)

I'll be praying for ya, KLo!

Char, hear ya. My motor doesn't even crank without copious amounts.

Yum, Oren. I wish everyone could get cafe au lait and beignets at will. We're so lucky to live here!

dellgirl, don't know how you do it, but I bet that's one goooood cuppa. :)

For reals, Colby.

I quite caffeine when I was pregnant with my first son 24 years ago. In this job, I am now a complete addict. Two cups in the morning, following by two cups of steaming tea, topped off by a Diet Dr. Pepper. Whatever keeps me awake.

De-caffing this week now that I'm done.

Just can't get along without my morning cups o' joe!
