Friday Foibles ~~ Phone Funniness (PG-13)

TGIF to all my friends. Hope life is treating you well. I'm juggling several fun and exciting projects (more on those later), along with taking care of Rose & Thorn Journal and editing an engrossing manuscript for someone I love. I've also blown the dust off my own ms and am tackling revisions.

Being away from home the last almost-two weeks and unplugged from the electronic world was refreshing, but I also missed it. I was a Camp Chef on a hunt in northeast Louisiana with two great Hunter's Specialties pro staff guys -- Steve Criner and Rick White. It was oodles of fun, and I've got plenty of new recipes to share with y'all from that trip.

But no matter how busy I get, I'm NEVER too busy for a few laughs; especially those of the slightly politically incorrect variety. (Might wanna censor the kidlets for this one if they're reading over your shoulder.) :D
@@@

When old people (AKA "parents") text and use those fancy phones, bad things happen. Have you done anything like this yet?.......

Okay, don't tell me that's not funny! Surf over to DamnYouAutoCorrect if you want a few more giggles. And for even more snafus of the cellular kind, check out the popular CrazyThingsParentsText too. Oh my......I laughed til my sides hurt!!!!

Love, laughter and lotsa good stuff to each of you. xxo  Angie

No ma'am. I freely admit I'm one of the worst offenders. (And that very fact prevents me from getting one of those intuitive texting type phones!) Jitterbug's about my speed. :)

Well, Amanda B., please forgive my STOOPID foible. I thought (there's where the problem started) that you were my daughter Amanda. LOL....see why I don't need to text?!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure which is funnier here, the autocorrect or the comments. :-) It's nice to see you here again. I miss you when you're not around.

Angie, too funny. I don't need texting to laugh at my parents, they just say funny stuff all the time. :P

This sort of thing is among the many reasons why I will not get a cell phone or Tweet or... I have enough trouble avoiding typos on a regulation-size keyboard. If I have to try it on something smaller than the palm of my hand, and only using my thumbs, I would have approximately the same chance of success as a milkmans' horse in the Kentucky Derby.

Suldawg: Hearrrrrrr yaaaaaaaaa. I tweet, but NOT on a phone. Only on my trusted laptop. I have to text though, or lose all contact with my kidlets. :)

Reminds me......I texted a good friend last night to ask what colors her kitchen is done in b/c I was getting her some rubber trivets she wanted. She texts worse than me. She texted back, "My kitchen is decorated in red and black asses...." I replied not knowing she was at a church function): "What kind of decor includes red & black asses?!" or something similar. LOL

I can never figure out texting, it takes too long and, it's just a glorified version of Morse code anyway. But kudos to you for having the patience to figure it out. Very fun post. :)

I had not heard of that Damn You Autocorrect until last week. Then, I spent HOURS on there laughing until I really did cry and cry. Oh, those things amuse me.

I've seen a few of these emails floating around lately with the text phone auto correct thing. Very funny. The one I got was a little ... less clean :)

Just wanted to drop by and say a big ole "Howdy" from Alabammy. I love this post! The websites kept me laughing (while I was at the 40 hour job) so hard I had tears rolling.

OMG - you set me to laughing right out loud about the texting! My son and husband get a great laugh out of my texts...the problem is, my iphone corrects words that I actually intend, making a great mess of things!

And...TWO WHOLE weeks unplugged? BLISS OUT! You are a lucky, lucky girl!

Ahhh I've never texted (no cell phone, here) but I know I'd be messing up big time if I were. Too funny. Thanks for sharing.

Too funny, Angie. You always give me the giggles. That's why I DON'T text. The youngest and only girl is glad I don't. Can you imagine??
