Tasty Tuesday ~~ New Twist on Cinnamon Rolls

All this extended cold weather has given me a hankering for something good in the baking department. Hope you enjoy this new version on the standard cinnamon roll!

If you've cooked something good lately...do share. :)

Cinnamon Biscuits

5 cups baking mix (Jiffy, Bisquick, Pioneer)
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup melted margarine or butter
6 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
4 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 425. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Turn onto surface dusted with baking mix. Knead until smooth. Form a large (@ 3 inch diameter) log. Slice one inch rounds and place in baking pan sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake for 16 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly. (Makes 24 large biscuits that taste almost like scones.)

Orange Buttercream Glaze

2 cups Confectioners sugar
1/4 cup melted butter (4 Tbsp)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 Tbsp. Half & Half (or milk)
1/3 cup orange juice

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour over warm cinnamon biscuits. Good any time of day or night!

Mmm... yum! Another tasty recipe I'll have to try. GOt to go out and pick up some things from the grocery store first.

Now those look a tad too good. Probably not so good on my thighs, though.

Oh, they look good! Now, what's "baking mix" in English?

Michelle - That's a double recipe, so cut your grocery list in half. :)

LOL L.T.

Thanks Tere. ;) They were good. Not too sweet.

Hey Scott. How's the writing coming along?

Thank you Dylan. (I'm working on Q&A's and will send them along tonight.)

E.G. - Certainly not! Eat a dozen and share the other. *smile*

Aww, now, a couple won't hurt ya! Enjoy...life is SHORT, Midlife.

Titus - Baking mix is the prepackaged stuff you buy off the shelf if you're too lazy to start with flour and make it yourself. :D

Sounds good. Even better around a fire coming out of cast iron. With a cup of hot coffee big enough to swim in.
