What great pictures. I love frangipani blossoms - they always smell like a fresh summer breeze to me.

I love flowers! All of them. Spring is such a miracle, year after year.

I love any flower that doesn't die on me! Guess that says little about my grean fingers, or lack of...

Beautiful! :-)

Barb, love the name of those. Had to get on Google and look 'em up. Thanks!

Amen, Lori.

Jinksy, I definitely didn't get my grandmother's green thumb. (She literally grew beauties from sticks!) The pictured flowers have somehow made it in my flowerbeds for a couple of years running, so they're keepers.

Thanks, Jessica.

I have a black thumb but do love a garden full of flowers. I've always had a special fondness for lilacs and daisies.

roses. My gradfather grew old roses and he taught my mother, who taught me. They're tricky to look after as they're not as disease resistant as the new roses but I like the idea that when Shakespeare was wondering whether a rose would smell as sweet by any other name, he would have been sniffing one of the direct ancestors of one of my roses.

Love them all! The pink hibiscus(I think it's a hibiscus) is my fav!!!

I had to stop over and tell you how much I appreciated my blog prize. I have been so wrapped up in the preparation for my DD surgery that I have not had much time to spend on the old blog or visiting other as well.

Note pads and post-it's are some of my favorite things. I use them constantly in my bible studies as well as just around the house for reminders. So I was so excited when the package came in the mail!!!!

Thanks again!!!!!
Blessings

It's rainy here today so I needed some brightening.

Hilary, both nice choices. :)

That is an awesome lineage and thought on your special roses.

Robin, you're right on the hibiscus. Glad your "100th Follower" prizes arrived safely, and it was something you could use!

I think we passed our storms nextdoor to y'all, Travis. But the rain saves on watering lawns & beds, plus makes nice blooms. Hope you've gotten all moved in and settled. :)

I have lots of allergies and hay fever, so I would rather look at flowers than plant them.

I have to say though, the blossoms on a crab apple tree and cherry tree are something I enjoy looking at with a tissue up to my sniffling nose.

They're all beautiful. I have a lot of them outside. My fav flower? Gardenias. I love them and we had them where I grew up, down in south Florida. I have some here, too. In a planter that I bring in every fall. :)

Angie Ledbetter said...

Michelle, so sorry about the allergies. Have ya tried Zyrtec OTC yet?

I love gardenias too, Robyn. The South's perfume! :)

My favorite flower is blooming right now in NH. It's the state flower - the purple lilac. The fragnance is unbelievably beautiful. We pick them and put them all over the house.

I love lilacs. Very fragrant and full of memories from long ago when I was a little girl in PA.
Thanks for the little beauties today, Angie!

Dogwood blossoms for my eyes, lilacs for my nose. I also love old roses (loved Rebecca's comment) and wisteria.

If our flowers keep dying, we will be going the rock garden route. We shall see.

Angie: WOW! Rootin' Tootin' gorgeous!

i love pansies, because my Grandma grew them, and would send me and my cousin, Candy out to pick some, then float them in a shallow bowl on the dining table. Their little "faces" are so sweet.

Also, rhodedendrons, irises, gladiolus, and a rose called 'sterling silver,' which is a tender lavendar. Sorry for any misspellings!

Thanks for perking up the weekend with these beauties!

I would say pansies. Then snapdragons and verbenas. All things I can only grow in the spring where I live. As a child in Minnesota, they flourished all summer.

So beautiful! I like Bleeding Hearts. And I can actually grow them without killing them.

I love hydrangeas. It is said tho..that if you want to end something, you send hydrangeas. Hmmmmm.

What's cookin?

Karen, that sounds lovely!

You're welcome, Red Bird. :)

Sandra, dogwoods and wisteria are some of our most gorgeous ornamentals here. Just wished the heat didn't wither them so quickly.

LOL, Oren. A rock garden would be all zen-like and no maintenance. It could work.

Hey, Carol. Love your pics from your yard. So pretty!

Jen, I love pansies too. (We even have a purple & gold variety that's real popular here in LSU Tiger Country.) :) Oh, and those sterling silver were my grandmother's absolute favs!

All great choices, Midlife.

BJ, I'm gonna have to look those up!

Nothing as showy and bright as sunflowers, Marguerite. :)

Hey, 2nd Cup. Great pick.

Mel...never heard that before. Will have to think on it. LOL what's cookin'.....hmmm....made a great Mediterranean pasta salad yesterday. I KNOW you got good stuff cookin' at your house. Your photos make me drool!

Love the pictures! Right now my yard is so full of blooming lilacs that the fragrance hovers in the yard. So those are this week's favorite. Peonies bloom next, so they will be next week's favorite. Then I think it might be sweet peas. And so it goes. :)
