The Goodness of Sleep

Hope you got a long stay in Lala Land last night. I slept for eight solid hours, and I feel almost (but not quite) like a new person today.

Here's to plenty more nights in Zone 5, ultimate REM deep sleep mode, and some good naps too. Happy Saturday to all my bloggy friends!

I'm soooooooo jealous. I sleep so badly! I slept 11-1 last night...awake 1-3:30....slept until 7:30 am. not a bad night for me actually.

sleep is highly over rated....i sure the myth of a full 8 hours every night is just that...a myth.
i think it it was started by people who don't want us blogging so much..

Not so much - but when I woke up at 7:00 (after a broken six hours) I got ten feet from the bed, thought Hey, I don't have to be up yet! turned around and fell back into bed. I woke up forty minutes later, actually ready to be awake.

Good for you! Yep, for the last two nights no kiddos have woken up, thank goodness, so I've gotten solid sleep.
Hope you get another one tonight. :-)

Great, now I have to think about sleeping and if I'm doing it right. Not really. Naps are high underated. Sometimes a couch nap is better than a bed nap. Or even better, sitting under a tree with the wind blowing, about 70 degrees. Sounds like a plan.

I've never understood the whole sleep pattern thing. Sometimes, shortly after I've fallen asleep, I'll wake up and will have already had a dream. Why is it (like on the awesome chart you included) they say you don't dream until later in the night? Why, why, why? (Inquiring minds want to know.)

I can appreciate that. I slept late and am still lolling about in my pajamas. Saturday is my new favorite day. Enjoy the rested feeling. Ain't sleep great?

I feel asleep at 9:30 last night and my husband woke me at 8:30 as he thought I was dead! having too good of dreams I guess.

Ah...sleep! Makes everything the next day look so much better! I especially love my afternoon naps.

Karen, sleeping well at night is one of those things people take for granted and don't miss till it's gone. :)

LOL, Seeker. I'd be fit as a fiddle if I got 5 straight hours a night!

Sandra, glad you fell back in for those last stolen minutes. Wonderful!

Ditto to you, Jessica. I remember well the years of sleeping with the radar on to hear the three kidlets.

Schube, I don't think the sleep experts included strange writer minds like ours in their study of "normal" folks. :)

Midlife, yes ma'am! Hope you get caught up from your work week on some zzzzzz's.

They'd call EMS for me if I ever stayed in bed that long, Terri. But one can always wish! :)

Donna, I love a nap too.

There is nothing like as good night of sleep. The older I am the more delicious sleep seems to become.

Angie, Here's to Happy Easter to you and yours!

I was supposed to get up at 6:30 and be at work (which is in my basement) at 7:00, but since I'm sick and feel like a truck is parked on my chest, I stayed in bed and managed to finally get to work at 9:00. Turns out it was a slow day and I could have stayed in bed. Oh well.

I'm glad you slept well! I've been doing fine in the sleep department lately, but I do know all too well how awful it is to battle insomnia.

Sweet dreams tonight! And thank you for visiting my blog today. :)
