Goals: Close But No Cigar

Yeah, I know Mardi Gras is over and Lent has begun, but this picture, no doubt taken in New Orleans, reminds me that we all need to take time to kick our feet up and recharge our batteries, but also that it's good to have a few goals. My writing buddies at Melissa Marsh's Just Write Challenge have seen this post title and photo already, as I've lamented not accomplishing all the writing goals I'd set for February.

If you feel like you didn't make enough (or any) progress toward securing your own goals and dreams, writing or otherwise, never fear -- a new month begins today. March's clean slate invites us all to get busy, and its gentler weather encourages us to lift off winter's blanket and get outside more often.

So...what's in your wallet [said in that gorgeous Allstate Man's voice]...um, I mean, what's on your agenda and do you have plans for accomplishing those things?

I love a classy lady with a cigar. Especially in Pepto Bismal Pink. I'm working on my suburban murder mystery. Who knew sleuthing could be so much fun? Too bad Jenny's next door neighbor, Amanda, had to bite the big one, but someone needed to take one for the team. I plan to have the book finished, as in "edit-ready" as the calendar turns to April - that beautiful, warmish, tulip-laden, month!

Debra, glad you liked my Aunt Lurenda! :) Great goals with your WIP. Can't wait to read it. (If you get stuck on a sleuthing scene, I'll be glad to lend you a few tips from my P.I. days.) Tulips and finished ms dreams to you!

Yes I do, thanks for asking. :-) I plan to completely finish (as in revisions, etc) a book and I plan to get tons of wordage in on my wip.
Sorry your plans didn't go as expected. Here's to March!

As my actual wallet is liable to be devoid of dosh, after paying tree/drain experts and buying others birthday prezzies, I shall spend the month in La La Land, on an extended holiday. No doubt Blogland will receive the odd postcard...

This month I want to write down some weekly writing goals. I kind of coasted during the latter part of February and need to get back on track. P.S. Loved the picture. There is refreshing about someone who is confident enough to just let it all hang out.

I'm sorry, but I can't hear a word you're saying, I'm too busy GAWKING at that picture!

Vodka, so glad you like that little pic of my Aunt Noonie. :) You try to have a little fun before Monday comes rolling in again!

*clink* (my coffee cup to yours). Go, Jessica!

Jinksy, lotsa dosh and prezzies to you in March. :)

Good luck with your writing, Linda. And I agree, we could all be better served by letting it hang out a little sometimes. *grin*

Carrie, if you ever make it down here, I'll introduce you to Auntie (or someone real close). hehe

I never thought I'd get this far, with each step I was thrilled and amazed and humbled. So every baby step is an accomplishment to me. I do keep my eye on the prize, but try to appreciate the journey.

If I made myself some goals, I'd just disappoint myself so I'll just try to make it through the month and I'll cheer you on with yours. How's that?!!

So true, Deb S. (Can ya see her cigar supplies next to her? Makes me think the photo is real.)

Kasie, I know whatever your goals are, they'll be accomplished!

Will see ya at the alley, Oren, if I'm not at Mom's.

Hoping your March goes as well as last month, Terri. :)

Are we sure that isn't a picture of George Burns?! ;)

I'd like to finish my rough draft by the end of spring, but don't know if it's in the cards. I'm working toward it!
