Politically Incorrect...Christmas Gift & Joke

Christmas shopping mullygrubs got ya down? Checking account squealing from hunger? Feel like this Ho-Ho-Hum Santa baby without much in your sack o' gifts to hand out this year? After reading about the suggested gift item below for all the lovely ladies in your life, I promise you'll feel better. And don't forget to check out the video I made just for you (in the spirit of the season) at the very bottom of the page above Mr. Al E. Gator...

Somewhat embarrassing to admit, I'm not getting an annual bonus and Christmas is tight this year. And I know a lot of people in the same boat.

So, this year, I'm going to be making a lot of handmade homemade gifts to wrap up! And for the womenfolk, I'll be making these adorable bedroom slippers for y'all. Before I begin, I'll need your shoe size, so please get those to me asap.
Dear bloggy friends, I'm sure you'll agree that it's a splendid idea, and should you wish to do the same, I've included the instructions below.

How to make bedroom slippers out of maxi pads:
You need four maxi pads to make a pair. Lay two pads out flat, for the foot part. The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top. Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot part. Now, here's where the fun and creativity begins: decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers (this is most aesthetically appealing), glitter glue, fabric paint, sequins, recycled or found treasures, markers, beads, ribbons...just get out your glue gun and go wild!

These lovely slippers are:
*Soft and Hygienic
*Safe (Non-slip grip strips on the soles)
*Fight foot odor (Built-in deodorant feature acts as an odor eater to keep
feet smelling fresh)
*Multi-purpose (No more bending over to mop up spills)
*Earth friendly (Disposable and biodegradable)
*Environmentally safe
*Conveniently sized: (1.) Regular, (2.) Light and (3.) Get out the Sand Bags.
I'm including a photo of the first pair I made so you can see the nifty slippers for yourself. I'm telling you -- hours and hours of fun, and they slip easily into the stockings hung on your mantle or into a plain brown lunch bag, which you can, of course, also decorate!

I am awaiting your response. It's crucial that I get the right size for each of you.

And, now, the joke~~

BLONDE CHRISTMAS

Two blonde roommates go deep into the woods to find the perfect Christmas tree. Exhausted after hours of sub-zero temperatures and a scary encounter with a hungry wolf, one blonde turns to the other and says, "I'm so like chopping down the next tree I see! I don't care if it's decorated or not!"

Kat, you forgot to tell me your shoe size. Never mind, I know it anyway. :)

Sounds like someone has too much time on their hands this Christmas season. Great story and the lumberjack joke is too good to keep to yourself. No blondes in my family.

This reminds me--my mom bought this "diaper cake" for someone for a baby shower. I was like, "What!" and she said, "But it's useful!" So, I'm thinking of giving her a toilet paper cake at Christmas, haha!

Ang, got your size down. Shoes should arrive shortly. And, yeah, love the elf vid & the different dances they can do. :)

Why, thank you, Eric. Dontcha love great emails?

Dear "She's Hot" Colby: I have the recipe for a Kitty Litter cake. Hmm...perhaps I'll post it on an upcoming Tuesday!

Merry xmas to Angie's blog--love the slippers, if only I had known! m

I'm having a hard time commenting, what with the snorting laughter and tears running down my cheeks! The baby's adorable and wears something akin to my normal expression.

The slippers... hold on, here I go again!!! (OK, straight face!) While yours are most festive, and although I've carefully weighed the many practical features, I have decided that my shoe size shall remain a secret between me and the REAL Santa Claus.

And then you topped it all off with that joke - too funny! But, seriously, by the time I got to the the joke, I was borderline apoplectic (BTW - this resulted in an slight asthma attack, as I'm still getting over this hideous cold)... the joke pushed me right over the edge. Perhaps you should add a warning at the top? Thanks for the hysterics. ~ Deb

P.S. Just watched Colby's video, so I won't even mention Lucy's (wonder-dog) 4 feline siblings, nor shall I tell them the horrifying news (or reveal to them that I give dogs a slight edge in the dog vs cat debate). Is it really true? Say it ain't so!

Hey, I resemble that remark! Shoe size: Regular absorbency.

M. Bail said...

OMG love the slippers. And they're so practical, especially for those ladies with sweaty feet!

Angie Ledbetter said...

Have no fear, poet Marilyn. It's not too late!

LOL, Deb, but so sorry about you "catchin'" an asthma attack from the laughter! I'll not confirm or deny about the animals that rhyme with bats. :) PS I love Lucy's adventures!

Thanks, 2nd. Got your order down. Would you like sequins or wee ornaments applied?

LOL, Embee! So true.

Rachel Burton said...

Oh. My. Gracious.

Please send me a pair of those!

I'm trying to buy everyone books this year, but homemade gifts are looking more and more tempting (especially now that those slippers are on the table).
