Yikes, Ike!

I really do hope this is the last hurricane post I have to make for year 2008. But isn't that a mean looking monster swooping in on Texas? (I'm writing this on Friday night, Sept. 12, just in case winds or floods knock our power off again in the morning.) We're prepared to the hilt once more, and will have plenty of food cooked if anybody wants to drop in and share a meal! ;)
All this fearsome weather we've had lately makes me wonder what sort of storms, phenomena or conditions other people who don't live in the South fear. What about you?
Prayers and good thoughts to those in our neighboring state who are in Ike's direct path. And to those who will clean up the mess afterward.
Now, this is off topic, but if anyone knows of a really really easy (read, idiot-proof) site/stat counter, could ya let me know? 'Preciate ya!

"have plenty of food cooked if anybody wants to drop in and share a meal!" God, how I miss those words! That is such a Luzianna thing and one of the things I miss most about that state. Having lived all over the U.S., I can honestly say that it is a rare thing to hear those words spoken. I cannot tell you how much I miss driving through Baton Rouge and all the sudden craving some coffee and conversation, grabbing my cell phone and calling you up. As long as I called you before I reached the edge of your driveway, I knew a pot of hot coffee and some kick ass "sisterhood" conversation was just a street away. I miss you, Angie. You totally ROCK!

Ooo, PW, I'm so sorry the snow bunnies don't play like us G.R.I.T.S.

If you decide to come "home" for a visit, I'll fix ya up with some good vittles. LOL Miss you too!

On top of the hurricane stuff, the lovebug season is here. I want to know how they survived. This also means cooler weather is coming soon.
Our team and scouts are tired of having to wring out our socks.

sitemeter.com is useful.

Hey, there's a little icon on my dashboard, that says you've linked to me. I've done the same. Did you get a little gumdrop person?

Everyone's prayers are surely directed toward those who have experienced Ike et al.; we've gotten many refugees coming through here in the past several weeks.

Oren: I'm pretty sure love bugs make excellent sopper/soakers if you put a bunch of 'em in your wet shoes. hehe

My prayers too, BJKD!

Tut, I didn't get a gumdrop person icon! Wahhhh. Maybe it'll activate soon? Bless you for caring for the evacuees. I can't imagine what a nightmare they must endure.

And, Tut-tut, thanks for the heads up on the site meter. I'll check it out.
