October Photos

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, ALL YOU BLOGGIN' GOBLINS!

Below are a few random photos I've taken in the last month, just in case you don't have fall festival or Hallo-weinie plans and would like a peek into my so-called life, or at least the things that make me grab my camera.

Bandit, the cutest Boston Terrier ever, with his little piggy toy
from Aunt Kat (which he promptly tore to shreds after the picture).

Scale model of downtown Baton Rouge in the lobby of the Welcome Center.

A nice variety of textures, colors and natural items.

Best cheesecake ever from Gio's Mezza Luna - one of my fav. restaurants.

The gecko that ate my parents' neighbors' roof.

Mural on downtown New Orleans building by Louisiana artist
George Rodrigue. "Art is a timeless expression of a moment."

Me (eww), Kathryn/Kat Magendie and Cynthia Toups
(Rose & Thorn's Managing Editor) at the Louisiana Book Festival
where Kat spoke about her book Tender Graces.

Primitive artist Alvin Batiste at work at the
Turning Leaf Festival in St. Francisville, LA.

Lovely roses in a buttery color with tangerine tips.

Kids swinging on an old oak's branch at the Turning Leaf
Festival. (Yeah, the leaves are all still green, but the festival
in the park was nice. Plenty of artists and crafters on hand.)

They're all great pictures, including the one with you! And there's a candle in that cheesecake. Did someone have a birthday?

Thank you Carol & Donna.

Oh, I'm glad Lori. :)

Janna - Hate pics of myself. yuck! And, yes, took a friend for her birthday. Now she loves Mezza Lunna as much as I do. (Passing on the addiction!)

I want a bite of that cheesecake!

AMoS - You got great taste.

Terri - I miss her so much! After becoming friends through a writing/crit group and beyond for five or so years, it was hard when she moved to her mountains. Makes me grateful for the Internet and our get togethers a few times a year!

Hope you get all your batteries fully recharged this weekend.

Carrie - Wishing you a whole piece!

And yet that gecko stays so trim. What is its secret?

Okay, no ewwing yourself, cutie.

Those are lovely photos, Angie. You should suggest to the festival's organizers that next year, if the leaves don't co-operate by turning, they make Leaf Painting one of the festival's activities.

Beautiful roses, awesome mural, you're not ewww, and the cheesecake reminds me my daughter's been begging me to make cheesecake for a while. I'll have to buy the supplies when I go shopping next and make it for her!

LOL Rebecca - I let the little gecko out into the free world today. Was afraid he was getting too thin!

Sandra - Good idea. Maybe it should be called Fall Artist Festival. :) Still loads of fun.

Have fun with that cheesecake Embee!

Deb - Yellow rose of Texas? :D

Same to ya Elizabeth.

OMG - No pics past the dessert were more important. hehe

Karen - Thanks. :)
