Ho-Ho-Ho and Holy Guacamole!

What's up with me rushing the holiday season by doing a Santa shout-out and posting an elfin photo of my parents I made a few years ago on Jibjab, you ask? (Aren't they precious?)

Well, I want to do some Christmas shopping this year from online folks...support the arts and artisans, ya know? And since I've been known to go to hardware stores on Christmas Eve to do a last minute gift-grab, I thought I'd do it a better, more efficient way for a change. (Hey, don't laugh; hardware stores NEVER have crowds and they carry such nifty items for everyone on your list!)

Here's where you come in. If you have friends, family or bloggy pals who sell artsy items, I'd be ever so grateful if you'd leave me a link or info. in a comment! Kathryn Magendie is also looking around for online sellers, so hope over to her blog and give her the 411 too, if you would. Thanks in advance!

If I get enough resource links, I'll compile them and post them in a few days so you can help support our online community too.

@@@

Now, for the holy guacamole part: I've got close to one hundred (100) entries in the book title contest, and couldn't be happier! I'll be hosting this contest again real soon as it was the most popular post ever!

So, all you kind contestants and those of you who are just waiting with bated breath to find out the winners (yeah, I'm picking two -- one for the Cajun goodie package and one for the writer's delight package), you'll have to hang on til Wednesday to get the news. Sorry, but there are just too many great entries to go through. I've already got them divided up into different levels, but I want to read them a few more times.

The book title suggestions corresponding to the photos are REALLY fun to read, so if you have time in your blog hopping today, take a gander at all these interesting titles HERE!

Back tomorrow with a new Tuesday Recipe. Hope you had a fantabulous weekend, and everything is going smooth as buttuh in your world.

Great idea with the Christmas gifts. I decided that I'm only giving gifts that support a charity this year. Can't wait to see your list!

Carol - Yes ma'am. It's coming! We did the punkin butt, so we're moving on. LOL

Thanks much, Janna!

Thank you Deb.

Thanks Linda! :)

Aww, Debbie, thanky. :D

Elizabeth, thanks for your kind offering. I'm gonna check out your friend's goods (hehe), and I'm sure others will too.

I make jewelry, and I just found out about this from trusk4u.

Here's the link to my Winkelf shop:

The Jeweled Rabbit

I'm planning to change artistic direction, so I'm liquidating much of my current stock. Most of my jewelry has been marked down 50%, so here's a great chance to stock up on jewelry at great prices for Christmas gifts.

I'll be posting about this opportunity to promote indie artists on my blog.

I'm with Carol. I ignore Christmas' existence until AFTER Halloween (which is, incidentally, my favorite holiday). But I love your plan - to buy indie artsy items as gifts...

For one of my two film fests, I viewed a terrific documentary (that I ultimately couldn't program) called HANDMADE NATION - which features a ton of indie artists across the U.S. Through the filmmaker's blog, you can find out about the featured artists. Some of their stuff - from clothing to jewelry to handmade books - is amazing! There are a ton of useful links on Faythe's site, and she might be willing to help point you in the right direction. Hope that helps!

hey angie! I wanted to let you know about my blog address change. *sigh* If you're following me, my posts now won't show up in your feed, dashboard, sidebar, whatever. So please forgive me, but you'll have to change the address for my main writing blog, Where Romance Meets Therapy, to http://jeanniecampbell.blogspot.com. To do this, you have to "unfollow" me and follow me again. Sorry for the confusion!

Wow, you are a planner, Angie! I must admit I'm gathering a few things here and there, but not quite yet ready to say I'm Christmas shopping.

Actually, I did know that. My Uncle Joe had that album. No, I never listened to it, but we made all sorts of jabs at Uncle Joe about it. :) We were more of The Osmonds kind of stuff then - real music snobs. LOL

Remember that Little House on the Prairie episode where Caroline (or was it the woman from the grocery store?) ends the restaurant episode by meeting this man traveling through town who's starting an all-chicken restaurant biz?

Why do these things stick in my head?
