You Might Be A Cajun...

Don't know where she gets 'em, but friend Marion sent me the creme de la creme of groom's cakes, and to make it even better, this one comes from a recent wedding in New Iberia, Louisiana -- the very heart of Cajun Country! Tell me this isn't cool. [For you culinarily stunted folk, it's boiled crawfish and fixin's, and a pretty realistic representation too.]

Behold the beauty~~~~~~~~~~~

Awesome! I just hope it doesn't have a fishy taste...

Makes me feel like a fish out of water...

Now that is a thing of beauty. I want to come down and eat.

Rebecca, I pretty much had the same reaction. :) Can't wait for the crawfish prices to come down a bit more so I can have me some!

LOL, Janna. Probably tasted a little hot and spicy.

Aww, Jinksy. I wish you could attend a crawfish boil just once. Mmmm!

Thank you, Debbie. I wish you would come on down. We'd fatten you up for sure!

It looks yummy to me!

I had my first experience with crawfish when I was 16. My dad's father was from Natchez, Mississippi and when we went to visit my dad bought a huge bag of them...I think I ate the whole thing by myself.

Jenna, you da woman! Nothing too much better than a sack of crawfish, huh?

PS We annexed Natchez and a few other of our neighboring state's better cities about 60 years ago. hehe

Being in Indiana, I'm landlocked, of course. I cannot tell you how unfathomable it is to eat things that look like that. Ohmywordy.

I'm not Cajun, but I am proud to say I've sucked the heads of a few crawfish!

Ugh! You ruined it for me! I scrolled down, expecting something yummy...

Wouldn't that be kind of gross to put under your pillow? Or don't y'all do that?

Ok - now I know I'm not cajun in disguise. I am not a seafood soul so I guess that puts me in the culinary stunted group. I'm from the Midwest and corn fed beef is my home town favorite.

I can't believe that's a cake!

So when are we expected for dinner, and what can we bring?

That's a cake? Wow. I bet transplanted Cajuns would pay to get a cake like that. How wonderful.

"The Hong Kong Connection" is a legal thriller about a gutsy female attorney who takes on high ranking International officials. It's a taut, rollercoaster of a ride from New York to Palm Beach to Washington D.C. to Hong Kong. The plot is expertly woven, the characters persuasive, and the dialogue snappy and spot on.

I'm not sure if I should be impressed or disgusted by (what looks like worms popping out) of this wedding cake! haha. Very nice!
