Take Me Out, Coach!

I'm tired. Don't wanna play in any more games for awhile. Can't I just sit on the bench, or "ride the pine," as I like to call it?

It's been a long month already, and today's only the 7th. I think I'm just overly tired, and will probably see things in a whole new light tomorrow. After I get home from working the gate at my kids' high school baseball field. After I pick up more puppy poop piles. After I wash about four more loads of clothes and a load of dishes. After...after...after...

Do you ever feel like quitting your team and taking off on a little vacation for one? How'd you get past the feeling...or did you go AWOL for a few days? Spill it -- even if you have to post a comment anonymously. :)

When I get "dug out" from all my stuff, I'll report back with hopefully a more rested and energetic attitude.

Why not go on strike? Put a note on the kitchen door 'Closed for restoration' (yours); Leave everbody dirty and smelly, and give them all instructions on how to work the washing machine/tumble drier. Take the puppy for a long walk, so no more poop, then say 'Hello, trees, hello sky' like Fotherington Thomas. (See Molesworth) xxx

lol Well, you tire me out with just talking about all you do! Makes me feel guilty that it is just me here to pick up after and chase about. BTW--love that picture.
You need a mini vacation away by yourself--and I mean one that might only last a few hours. When Dad can take over, take the car and drive to an empty mall or park or whereever and just decompress. I get to do that in my house when hubbie goes out. We need it to rest our brains. Take off!!

I'd invite you up this way for a visit but I have a couple of those feline things which you don't like.. (a photo of which is on my current blog post.. just giving you fair warning.) ;)

It's so easy to get buried in the "business" of life. Just remember that life itself is miraculous and full of wonder. You know this, but sometimes that fact gets hidden under piles of laundry (and other things!). Take a candle into your favorite room, close the door, take deep breaths and meditate. Then take a walk outside by yourself and "be" with the trees, the birds, the sky. This is a guaranteed cure for the housewife/mom blues.;-)

Oh my, I could have written this same thing. I want to be taken out for a while too. The past few weeks have worn me out as well. Do you think it has something to do with the time of year? I'll be looking at all the suggestions as well.

I am totally this dog that you have posted here. I was just thinking this morning that my stamina is terrible. If I get too overbooked, I get depressed. If I keep going, I get physically sick. that's kind of where I am. Hope you get re-grouped soon.

I'm just crazy about that photo! That is perfection.
Well, quitting just isn't an option, is it? So, when it gets bad, I just sneak some time for myself and then get on with it.

Definitely need to disconnect - or leave! - and have a Mental Health Day. Go do what you love to do! And answer to no one. I know certain things would be on your mind, but everyone could make do without you for just a bit. You DESERVE it.

I know you wish you could take a vacation that would last a month, but I'm sure you can't. But sometimes a few hours is enough to make you feel better. So take that walk, relax in that backyard, go to that mall....whatever you have to do....and do it often!

it must be a "bug" going around. all my girlfriends are expressing the same sentiments. we try to have a GNO at least once a month. I garden when things get stressful and overly hectic. There's just something about digging in the dirt and watching things grow that make the world right again.

I know you must be exhausted, because I am and I haven't had the long haul and et cetera you have had! Care-givers should receive week-long spa get-aways by anonymous wealthy donors -- or there should be a bank account somewhere just for caregivers to tap into for pedicures or manicures or facials or massages - whatever it needed - an ever-ending bank account!

Good book, a sip or two of wine, hot fudge brownie sundae, and you'll be right as rain:-) Take it easy.

Don't quit the game just invent some new rules geared to guarantee you victory.

Angie, I feel like that alot. Life just gets too busy and complicated. When I feel that way I just "check out" for awhile. Also, pamper myself with something I really like.

We'll all be here when you get back and are all rested up.

Hope you've enjoyed your evening!

Angie, Angie. Repeat after me: Day Spa.

Not that I've done that - but long ago, I used to make a point of going on a three-day retreat a couple of times a year. Three days of silence. It was hard (Oh, so That's what's going on in my head!) but very therapeutic.
These days, when I'm not traveling, I attend Taoist Tai Chi classes. Wonderful. Relaxing.
