Snapshots of the Everyday

Well...at least its the "everyday" at my house! Since I "talked" so much in yesterday's post, here are some photos taken over the last couple of days. Slices from life, you could say...

Azaleas and shrimp plants on my patio.

This is "Court Jester" from when we went out to eat the other night. {No, the nut doesn't fall far from the oak.} Isn't he handsome?

Full Moon Tree

One of my mom's great-grandsons playing with one of her Cancer Society wigs. He's a hoot! {Notice his Groucho Marx cigar-holding fingers...or it could be a booger.}

View from behind the Baton Rouge Gallery. Can you see the LSU lakes and Interstate 10 way in the background? Inside is where the annual women & history poetry reading is held. It was fun to read a poem before an audience again.

My parents have an outside reading room, and a bird has found a comfy place to nest in the bookshelves.

And Bandit also finds a nice place to nest after destroying the 4-year-old plant that lived in the pot. {Note toys clearly in view beside my chewed up dress shoe.}

Yes, children, Gumbo Writer still has her 2008 Christmas tree up. Now...don't ya feel better about yourselves? :)

I'd love to hear what a snapshot from your daily life would look like, so share a description, won't ya?
And if you have a minute, hit the icon up top to vote for my blog! We wanna win the $50 so I can buy contest prizes to give away. I think you can vote once every 24 hours. Wheeeeeee.

I love the outside reading space with the bird nest! Let me know when you get that tree down - if it's not soon, you'll go from "still" to "already!"

Love these insights to your days! Mine, right now, would be a snapshot of a quiet house - everyone is away, for just a few hours. So then, I guess the snapshot could also include me hovering over the laptop, typing fiercely away. :)

Oh! And judging by his age, I'm gonna say booger. ;)

I read that you still had your tree up but thought it was a joke!
And that bird nest makes me nervous. I'm too anal about my books.
Off to vote again.

I don't think it let me vote. Any suggestions on what I did wrong today?

The outside reading room with a bird's nest is so beautiful and evocative. The books returned to nature... I can't tell you how much I love that.

Oh, Carrie, you're right! I'm just ahead of my times again. I'm ready for Christmas 2009! Thanks for the perspective adjustment. LOL

I see fire coming from your fingertips on the keyboard, Janna! (And, yeah, I'm thinking it's a booger too.)

Debbie, would I lie to ya? :) Don't worry over the books. Mom lived to go to garage sales, so they probably all cost about .10 each. And about the voting snafu...they're finicky about their time clock, so you can't vote again till at least 24 hours have lapsed. Thanks for trying!

Lori, glad you enjoyed. I wish I was a better photog, but I sure do love gazing through the lens. There are so many secret worlds "out there" waiting to be discovered.

Snapshot: Me sitting in my bed with my laptop on my legs doing the blog crawl and getting ready to work on my WIP (not a very attractive picture). I voted for you again. I expect one of those Baby Jesus cakes for every vote I cast - hee-hee! (BTW: I linked ya.;-)

Still in my jammies at 10:30 on a Thursday morning . . . drinking coffee and reading my daily dose of blogs! The only difference from every other day is that it's my birthday!

Can I throw in the English word 'bogey, or bogy'which I assume is your 'booger'? Not that this shows a picture of my daily life - though it may have done, when my kids were small. Daughter used to proudly present me with hers, whilst son tended to secrete his about the bedframe...

I loved the bird's nest, fate of the least-read books. At my house, that would happen to Economics texts (unless they were being used to hold windows open).

What lovely pictures! That shot of the full moon tree was particularly gorgeous.

I'm afraid any snapshots from my daily life would probably be of my ever-messy apartment. My munchkin son is my saving grace, though--he's always camera-ready! I swear he has model potential :)

Debra, we only get king cakes during Mardi Gras, silly goose, but thanks for the vote. (Check your email for the Pimp My Query response.)

"Aimee" (hehe) -- you didn't even mention that little factoid in your post today! HAPPY HAPPY BIRFDAY TO YOU!!!

Jinksy, you say bogey, I say booger...either way, glad to know kids the world over are pretty much the same. :)

LOL, Sandra Leight. And I enjoyed your latest find at The Found Poetry Project!

Thanks, LC. I love pics of kidlets. (And you can blame yours for the messy apt!)

hahha, Angie, cool about the tree just exchange out for bunnies!!

Love Bandit in the pot, how SaaWEEEET!!!

Son is very very handsome! Send him to my daugh please for a week!

The tree. Dude. It's March.

A snapshot of my day would be of someone who has a lot of stuff to do before tomorrow, but is dicking around on the internet instead.

Yes, pathetic.

I'm jealous of your beautiful flower picture. Is it real? In central Michigan today it's hovering around 18 degrees with a wind chill of 6. I'm so ready for spring! But I guess the cold weather forces me to stay inside and keep writing away!

Ooh, I could have done without the thought of a booger in the Groucho fingers...

Some people do look good with crayons in their ears, by the way.

Oh the tree made me laugh and feel like maybe I am not the only person so far behind on almost everything!

Enjoyed the visit to a day in your life!

A picture (I'm sure I won't post) is me in bed with one of my black cats perched around my neck, purring and massaging my hair while the other black cat lays across my bible and devotions books ripping out bookmarks and flipping pages faster than a Los Vegas card dealer! LOL!

Love the icon idea--makes it TONS easier to vote for my fav blog! And yes --- I am soooo delighted that my tree is down!! Want some help???

I love the picture of Bandit sitting there in the plant pot...too funny. A snapshot of myself at the moment would find me sitting in our computer room, reading through blogs, writing emails to friends, and patting the puppies that sit at my feet. Here shortly though it will find me going to shut the window a bit as it's become a tad chilly....Off to vote for ya now!!

These are all great pics Angie. I have to say my favorite is the one of Bandit. I have a young doggie and he is so funny. But he actually plays with his toys. Lately he has discovered the bowl of potpourri and thinks it is his treats. At least my carpet smells nice and fresh when I get home from work...lol.

My snapshot would have to start around 4:00 p.m. when I get off from work. Just the smile on my face when I open the door to my house and leave the rest of the day behind...priceless.

Ooh.. so handsome! LOL! And brave! LOL! And I love little bandit what a cutie! And hey, seriously... at least your tree still looks gorgeous, right? Over here with my two year old distructo-tree-omatic mine looked like junk after the first couple of days... so I mean, if you're gonna have a tree up for St Patty's Day (You know the ancient Irish Decorated Evergreen Tree for luck tradition) then by all means work it! LOL! Oh yeah, and i voted! Jenni

Great photos. The full moon tree is lovely and Booger Boy is adorable. And who can resist a guy with purple ear wax? ;)

I vote booger too. The crayon trick is one that was tried once too. Lost both of them inside. Guess this is why things look a little funny sometime. My daily snapshot is usually really scary. Great pictures. Looks like Bandit needs to go visit Aunt Colby.

ROTFL!!!! I can't believe you have your tree up still! That is so freakin' funny! :-)
I was going to say that Court Jester does look good, until I saw the purple crayons sticking out of his ears. *snicker*

Jessica said...

Put Court Jester to work and have him take down that tree. (I'm assuming you're too busy, but if you're still in love with Christmastime, then I'll rescind that suggestion)

Angie Ledbetter said...

Kimmi, (Unbreakable), middle son is too young for your beauty queen...but big brother is a senior and 18! Wouldn't that be a scream if our kidlets hooked up? And wouldn't they have a fit to hear me say that? LOL

Aloha, Wendy. Hope you have a great trip!

Jody, yes, the pics are real! I don't know how y'all live up in the cold and snow so much of the year. *shiver* Thanks for visiting.

LOL, Suldog. You made me laugh...again. :)

Glad I "hepped" ya, The Things We Carried. *grin*

Oh, Donna my friend. That scenario sounds like my nightmares! eeeeeeeeeek

Terri, yes please! :)

Angie Ledbetter said...

Literary, I like your verbal snapshot. And thank you for the vote!

Ang, so glad your new home has become your own private oasis. May it fire your writing goals too.

Lynette, now you can tell why in my family cartoons he's called Court Jester. :)

Thanks, Jenni (giddy), LOL!

Hilary, I thank you for the good words on my amateur photog efforts.

I've tried hinting to Colby to train Bandit, Oren, but I guess she's too busy with the current service puppy. :)

LOL, Jessica, but he's still cute, huh?

oh, the dog picture SO could have been taken at my house... if we are missing something, the backyard is the first place we check! And really, the tree did make me feel a little better about my crazy house! thanks!
