Jackpots & Writing Resources

What do writing and gambling have in common? Go check out my post at The Rose & Thorn Literary ezine's blog and see for yourself.

And here are a few writer resources I thought you might like straight from my bookmarked favorites:

  • Chicken Soup - What they want and how they want it
  • Anthologies Online - Current list of anthology call outs
  • Lotsa freelance and nonfiction info. and resources at Burry Man
  • Like Inspirational topics? Give 2theHeart a look see.
  • Southern humor with a twist? Visit Dead Mule. HeeeHaww! [Note: If you're planning on submitting here, you must fill out the application of Southern roots oath. LOL]
  • Big fat listing of resources available for writers at Duotrope.
  • Dictionary.com [which also has a Thesaurus, translator and other reference tools] and Biblegateway.com [search by Bible version, keyword or topic] are nice places to get the right info. quick.
  • Everything you ever wanted to know about Literary Magazines but were afraid to ask. Gargantuan listing!
  • Really really bad and distasteful e-cards here. [Warning: Addictive!]

Okay, writer people, if you're in the sharing mood, we'd all love a peek at a treasured resource or two, or if you just want to dump praises/thanks on my head, that's good too. ;o) Now, git to writin'!

A late-breaking PS: Linda over at 2nd Cup of Coffee was the Mardi Gras King Cake contest winner, and she's posting thoughts and photos about the experience today. Congrats again, Linda!

Hi Angie. I came over from 2nd cup of Coffee.
It's a pleasure to meet you.

Good lord - asking for anything to be dumped on the head may be injurious to the sanity, let alone safety...

Beverlydru, thanks for stopping by. I'll be coming by your place shortly.

Jinksy, my friend, in my case, at my age and mental condition, it can only help! :)

I would love to get published elsewhere, but I'm too fucking tired at the end of the day.

VM: I'm not into censoring, so say as you please. And good luck on the publishing...you've certainly got enough followers to interest an agent!

Too busy to think up of any writing resource that you haven't already posted. So I'll just dump praises on your head. Do you prefer coffe cup size or semitruck load?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks for the resources. I would have shared dictionary.com but I see you already have that. I use the thesaurus almost every day!

Damn! And I thought sure that cake had my name written all over it. I guess I must have confused my name with Baby Jesus. Next time, try not to complicate things and just set the cake aside for me. How 'bout you just give away the Baby Jesus? (Whenever I hear "Baby Jesus" I think of Talladega Nights with Will Ferrell - hilarious dinner scene thanking Baby Jesus!)

Some day, if I ever become a writer, I'm going to check out some of those sites. For now, I'm going to go with the bad and distasteful e-card site.
Thanks for the tip!

I'm afraid to check out that link, 'cause I have a feeling I know what writing and gambling have in common, and it depresses me. LOL

Kat, miss you too!!!!!!!!!

LOL, Michelle. No wonder I feel like I've been hammered. Thank YOU. :)

I'm enjoying your newly posted WIP, Stacy.

Thanks, Jenn, I'll do that!

Debra, with all that smack, you'd most probably swallow the plastic baby, so best you didn't win. LOL and thanks for the linky love.

You're welcome, Jane & Terri.

Jessica, it's better news than ya think. :)
