Ledbetter Lunacy - Episode 6, "Down in the Dumps"

Hello, New Year babies! Here's the promised late edition of the family cartoon saga. After you read it, you'll understand why I'm late posting today.

So, without further ado, let's crank up the percussion section of the band along with the cymbals, and a few tootin' blow horns in honor of the day! It's time again for...

At least no one was hurt. The cards can be replaced. Tell DH it was too hot to hunt anyway. I turned one down too. Idea: You write and Colby can make videos. It would be fun to watch from the cheap seats.

oh, what good parents! So sweet -- poor queenie though, :-( I'm sorry.

Oren, not to worry. DH got a later start than planned, but is there through Sunday, happy as a clam. :) PS I love Colby's vids too.

Thanks, "Aunt" Kat. She's okay now. Went ahead on her scheduled trip out of state to visit cousins. Hugs

Aw, what great royal parents to dumpster dive for the princess. I don't know royalty who would do that. That sucks that they got their purses stolen. Some people are so mean.

Janna Leadbetter said...

Oh noes! What a horrible thing to have happened. But I have to say, not many could have handled it better. Great effort!

The dumpster dive threw me for a loop. Is that an activity kind of like garage sale-ing, or were you looking for lost items? ?

Vodka Mom said...

I dumpster dived once. It was GROSS.

BUT, we found the retainer at the BOTTOM. The damn bottom.

Ah, so sorry, Angie. Boo hiss. But glad kido's were alright and you've recovered, I hope.
Many hugs!

Angie Ledbetter said...

Kasie, you're right, but the meanies always get their due in the end. :)

Thanky, Janna.

LOL, 2nd. We were going all around the area where the purses were snatched, looking in and around dumpsters in case they were ditched after the $ and valuables were taken. Please don't say you've never dumpster dived?! :)

Oh, Vodka, feel your pain. We only picked through the top layers.

Kimmi, all's well now.

You all are great! Sorry you didn't find anything but I sure do bet it was a memory making experience.

Angie, Love the drawings. Sorry about the story. I had my wallet stolen once shortly after I moved to CA when I was 19. I had only $200 to my name, all of which I brilliantly kept in my wallet. During a wild night of partying, someone apparently lifted my wallet right out of my purse. I wasn't sure which was worse, the loss of the money or the loss of the wallet that had belonged to my beloved nana. The next morning I woke up in a compromising position with someone I barely knew, and didn't even have 75 cents to get home on the bus. Borrowing that money from said "stranger" was almost as humiliating as my embarrassing behavior the night before. I'm sure this falls under the category of "Too Much Information" but the story pulled me back in time. Tell princess a wild ex-rock star in PA is rooting for her.

Angie Ledbetter said...

Debbie, you got dat right. And now it's immortalized in this series. LOL

So sad for your stolen goods, Debra, and I'll pass the good thoughts on to Queenie from Wild Rocker. (Hey, is that scenario gonna be in your book?) :)

That just stinks (um...especially the dumpster diving part)! Can the gift cards be replaced?

Jenni James said...

okay... so you did make me chuckle... only cuz you wrote "Tears not acne" LOL! Cracked me up. I was wondering where you were.. so sorry, that's the worst. Hope everybody is a bit cheerier soon.

Angie Ledbetter said...

Melissa, sadly, I don't think stores or restaurants will honor the "I got robbed" story, or everyone would lie and say that. :(

Never fear, giddy JJ. Can't keep a Ledbetter down for long!

Tiffany said...

LMAO Look at you being such a good momma.

Angie Ledbetter said...

LOL, yeah Tiffany. I remembered Queenie that she has to come visit me in the nursing home one day for all the extra efforts I made for her.

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Angie, That scene's not in my book now, but you've got me thinking...!

So sorry to hear about the stolen purses, but glad everyone is all right. You should have worn a cape for spending your time dumpster diving. Super Castle Wench to the rescue! That was just great!

Angie Ledbetter said...

Debra, would be a dynamite opening scene...waking up in a fog, broke and "deflowered," young and crazed. And everything else flowed from that one main event maybe. :)

Hey, Michelle, and LOL on the cape. Hmmm, I DO need one for my costume collection!

At least no-one was hurt; there are always opportunists out there trying to take advantage.

PS: is Super Castle Wench any relation to Superwoman? :)

Deb Shucka said...

Did you find anything interesting while you were diving? Glad the girls are okay. Someone out there will be working off some bad karma.

Angie Ledbetter said...

t i m, so true. I think we're distantly related cousins on my step-uncle's side. :)

Deb S., found .50. Does that count?

I'm glad everyone's OK, Angie! That was quite the New Year's Bacchanal... well, at least a very gripping tale. Thanks for the giggles and I hope those reprehensible cretins get their hard-earned, well-deserved comeuppance! Looking forward to further adventures... Deb

Oh poor kidlets.. but good parents for doing that dive. I don't think I'd have done it.
