Ledbetter Lunacy...Cancelled for Deep South Snow Day!

Sorry we have no new episode of Lunacy today, but I couldn't stand to be inside when we had a rare snow day! Instead, I hope you'll enjoy a little pictorial trip around my house, neighborhood and beyond.

Snow on the sago palm~~

This is Grumpy the Teenage Snowman, created by Fresh Prince~~

And since Fresh Prince always has a girl with him...oh, it makes a mother (and probably neighbors too) so proud~~

A beautiful house down the street~~

Sneaux Flowers!~~

Fresh Prince in the front yard...with the same snowball he knocked the streetlight out with *sigh*~~

Early morning flakes (outside as well as in)~~

Snow-covered Ledbetter teen vehicles. Ain't we patriotical? And, yes, "Will work for car insurance." :) ~~

LSU's Mike the Tiger running in the snow~~

...and sitting~~

And finally, a full moon rising over snowy roof~~

Snow! Angie, you now have had more snow in Louisiana than we've had here in Philadelphia! I'm so jealous!

It looks wonderful. LOVE the new Victoria's Secret model. :))

So, so jealous!!! But I'm glad you've got some of the white stuff. Must really make you feel in the Christmas spirit!

We got hit by the snowstorm too. I'm going to go outside to take some pics and... um... a bra on a snowman? Brrr! Lovely photos and... um... a tiger!?

You never cease to amaze me.

Nothing but freezing rain here. I'm jealous!

Lori, it's already melting, but we got THREE whole inches. Must be some kind of record. Glad you like Mz. Vickie. :)

Sure does, Melissa!

Kimmi, Colby's vid really is a hoot, isn't it?! Cats give me the ookies.

mlh, only my house would sport a bra-clad snow person! Glad you're getting some snow too. And, yeah, that's our famous Mike the Tiger...LSU's beloved mascot.

Wendy, come on down!

The bra should have been camo and all would be right with the world. It was a really pretty day overall. Back to normal today. Normal, not always a good thing.

Oh, Oren, you do love to stir the pot, don't you? :) Drive carefully in the road slush.

I was hoping you'd post some snow pictures. I thought immediately of you when they said that area got some! WOW! Enough to make a snow man! Did you even know how?? :))
We are in the 50's here today and I am snuggled down in my sweats and sweatshirt!
Now is that tiger thing really real???

Oh how purty. We just can't seem to get the white stuff here in Alabamy. Keep forcastin' it, but just rain! Enjoy!

So, let me recap. My Texas friends got snow, my Louisiana friend got snow. And me, stuck in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains - I got enough rain to drown us all. Snow? No. I hate the new weather worse than I hated it when they came up with New Math.

Angie Ledbetter said...

You got dat right, Suldog. We enjoyed it. All melting away now, but was so nice while it lasted. :)

Terri, didn't take too much engineering for the kids to roll up enough snow to make people. They loved it. And YES, the tiger is real. LSU has always had one for their/our mascot! Isn't he beautiful??

Ang, I hope y'all get a coverin' of it for a change. Lovely!

Welcome to my winter world of fun in the snow. Did you make a snow angel? That is a must.

It is amazing to see snow that far down south. That's fun snow that goes away and doesn't inhibit your life much. We've still got over a foot on the ground and we're supposed to get another foot plus over the weekend. It's supposed to be -10 for a HIGH temp on Sunday and into Monday with 30-40 mph winds, so we're talking serious wind chill! But these are hearty folks up here in the northern tundra and they just keep on truckin' no matter what the weather!

WOW! What AWESOME pics! I love your patriotic (Sp? LOL!) cars! They're awesome! How fun for you guys, seriously! I wondered where you were this morning! Glad to see you were out having fun!

Angie Ledbetter said...

JyLnC, I did! Was fun. Thanks for letting us borrow some of your wonderland.

Ooo, Embee, no thanks! I could never live in the "Frozen Nawth." :)

I was, Giddy. Thought of you and how much fun the "Reds" would've had down here tromping about in the sneaux!

Glad it's you and not us. We get enough of that stuff around here in Illinois.

It looks pretty, but it's not always easy to deal with.

Anyway -- haw! snow in So La - teehee -- :) love it

Angie Ledbetter said...

You're right, Morgan. Wouldn't want to deal with it (or the drivers here) if it snowed all the time.

Kathryn, Fresh Prince is on his way to you...I bought him a one-way ticket! :)

Janna Leadbetter said...

Yay! I thought of you when I was doing my Christmas shopping - heard the news from a broadcast playing on a display tv at a local store. :)

Angie Ledbetter said...

Thanks, Janna. It was so much fun! Hope shopping went well.

Tiffany said...

Hi I'm new here but also in LA. I couldn't believe how much snow we got. It was fun while it lasted!

Angie Ledbetter said...

Hey, Tiffany. Wasn't the snow fun? So unusual. Thanks for coming by!

Great pics! Looks like lots of fun was had by all. Snow people were too funny! What a gorgeous tiger. So, tell me, does "Mike" know ou don't like cats? HMMM? Nice car colors... I've only got the red stripe represented in my driveway.

I'm just wondering if you'd send a little snow up to Massachusetts. Here, on the east coast, we were fortunate to avoid those awful ice storms in western MA, NH & ME. But the only snow, so far was a light, frothy dusting a while back. I'm dreaming of a good, old-fashioned snowy, New England Christmas.
