Spotlight On...Memes

I'll admit, not too very long ago, I had to look up the definition and pronunciation for the word meme. Here's what I found at Wikipedia:
A meme (pronounced /miːm/)[1] consists of any idea or behavior that can pass from one person to another by learning or imitation. Examples include thoughts, ideas, theories, gestures, practices, fashions, habits, songs, and dances. Memes propagate themselves and can move through the cultural sociosphere in a manner similar to the contagious behavior of a virus.

Interesting, hunh? So, yesterday I got tagged by SmallFootprints of the lovely blog http://reducefootprints.blogspot.com/ which gives all of Blogland nifty-fied tips on reducing waste and keeping our Earth clean, along with some good veggy-tarian recipes now and then.

I'm playing along here in a post. Instead of tagging others as directed (Gumbo Writer has been known to not be such a great rule-follower). Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to share one (1) weird, funny or off-the-wall factoid about yourself in a comment.

Eight random facts and/or habits about myself~~

  1. I have an identical twin sister.
  2. I do not like any form of Math! Not in a box, not with a fox, not in any way, shape or form, Sam I Am.
  3. Napping is one of my secret pleasures.
  4. Hello, my name is Angie, and I am addicted to caffeine.
  5. I miss my 16-year-old Boston Terrier Darla.
  6. I wish I could draw. I might enjoy being an artist.
  7. Writing is good for the soul, I believe.
  8. I love listening to and watching a good storm.
Now...on with your great and glorious and relaxing and restful weekend plans! I'll leave you with a nice deep Saturday thought...(and PS, the author of the original SNL skit named Deep Thoughts is Jack Handey).

HAW! love the Jack Handy

I was tagged, too - and just as you did, I know I will put it on my blog, since I am not good with followthru on some things such as being tagged!

I'm behind on everything right now....!

(including mailing your ms! which is done and ready and sitting there looking at me going "ahem ahem AHEM!")

This is one of those questions where you think about your reply too much and don't want to sound too dorky or weird or worry if you aren't funny enough--oh--the insecurites of sharing. So I guess I will say I will read the other posts!

Here goes.
Being outdoors gets my motor running, either fishing, hunting, or watching a group of finely tuned, highly motivated athletes race to a goal they set the first week of school. And away we go.

Yea, I am proud of them, but I guess it shows.

Thanks, Angie ... love your list ... especially #3. Napping is truly one of the luxuries of life!! I wonder ... if your identical twin sister had to do a list of her own ... would it be similar to yours?

I like your twist on the game.

Take care!

Well! well! Eight things about Ms. B!

1) Ms. B1tch Knows Things! She can answer just about any question at all - but, mostly about food and food-related doodlies.

2) Ms. B1tch has an alter ego! Shhhhhhh- if anyone ever knows it, they must never tell!

3) Ms. B doesn't feel like answering anymore right now. ms. B is fickle like that...

I had to google "meme" not too long ago as well!

As for factoids... You're looking at the Southwest Junior High Sit-and-Reach champion. That's right. I'll be signing autographs in the back.

I too do not love Math and do love a good storm. We have some great storms here in Oklahoma, thunder, lightning, a real show!
Let's see, a new one about me is..I would love to be talented enough to write a children's book. I love the really good ones that tangle language in the mix!

Hope you are getting your rest!
Have a good weekend!

I hate math, too and I'm a caffeine junkie. I've always said I should have a inter venous coffee drip to make sure I avoid withdrawal. :>)

hahaha! YAY! I can comment on your blog. Sometimes blogspot won't let me :o) but today it will! I would LOVE to know how to do math.. but I just can't grasp the concept. That lil light bulb reserved for all of my other talents is burned out in the math department.. oh well! LOL!

Kathryn, birds of broken rule feathers....:) Don't sweat sending the ms. It'll get here when it's supposed to!

LOL, Terri. Maybe there ARE no weird facts you can share. It's possible you're just completely normal....nah. *grin*

Thanks, Small. And, no, I think my twin's list would be completely different. We tend to cycle in our "alikeness."

Good ones, Barbara, and ditto!

Ms. B. Wonder who you are, but love ya anyway.

Ang, hope the NaNo word count is climbing higher and higher!

Sit and Reach champ, Rachel? Whut's dat? (Sit and reach for the coffee cup?) :)

Oh, Kimmie, PLEASE, puh-lease say you are going to do a reveal on the rock start topic soon!

AVT, I did get some rest this weekend, and so did my puter. Hope same for you. (And don't dismiss that children's book idea right off the bat!)

Now, Colby, I love ya and all like that, but why would I want to post for all the world to see a living example of BEFORE and AFTER Jenny Craig pics?

jy, maybe we could get pateches somehow? Much more convenient than an IV pole.

Giddy, deep down, I'm distrustful of non-coffee drinkers and those who are proficient in math. LOL

Rachel reminds me of mine: You are looking at the runner up for the 1982 Miss Merrie Christmas contest in Springfield, MO! Woo hoo! You are honored, I'm sure! Of course you'd be MORE honored to meet the actual winner, but you'll have to settle for me. Sorry.

What? Stop laughing at me!
