Instant Death by Chocolate Recipe

*Warning, warning, Will Robinson! If you're a chocoholic, you may not want to continue reading!*

Instant Death by Chocolate
(aka Death by Mugging)

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in milk and oil, and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed. Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. Eat! (This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! {Thanks to my step-daughter for passing this deadly dessert recipe on to me!}

Cake in a cup. That woke me up just looking at it. This should stir up the troops. I need to get a bigger cup.

I did this about a month ago! Got an e-mail with the same directions and pictures, and had my daughters help. The prep was more fun than the cake was yummy, but I think if tweaked it'd be great! Curious to hear if others have tried it.

I'm gonna try it soon, Janna. Was thinking about adding peppermint chips to the mix for a holiday treat. :)

Terri, I freely claim every day of my almost-50 years! I've earned all the benefits of the "elderly." LOL

Linda, it won't hurt ya every once in awhile. (Maybe cut the recipe in half?) :)

MLH, Self wondered the same thing. Almonds...like a Hershey bar!

LOL, Wendy. It's not.

Melissa, give us a report if you do/did!

What a cool idea, Jill! May do the same thing for kiddies at Christmas.

Made me laff out loud, Kathryn. :)

There go my hips. This is just amazing. Yes, we've made it already. Yes, we'll make it again. And again. And again. Oy. My butt.

What?
No Way!
Is that "cup cake" a prop?
I don't believe it.
How could that be?
Really?
It sure looks good.
And it sounds easy enough.
I do have some ice cream.
Maybe I should go try it.........

Hey, Angie, odd how you mention Will Robison as I have him mentioned once in my book! :D

Ms. B1tch is tired tired tired...(and very hungry said...

Ms B1tch approves! Now, Ms B is Queen and she is All Knowing, but, Ms B1tch is NOT a food snob, no she is not....she loves rustic food and all things gooey chocolate goodness.

Ms. B think Miss Angie may be her new best friend - and Ms B rarely bestows this upon anyone!

(Also, Ms B answered your "question to Ms B1tch" about restaurants food revenge!

Lori, you look like you got plenty of room for a few more on that skinny frame! (PS...who's Smith?)

Mrs. Parks, I'll need full reportage after you've done the deed.

Kimmi, you're skinny too. Have one for me!

About the book...see? I knew there was gonna be a lot about it I lapped up. Can't wait for it to drop!

*Yay, and clap clap* to Ms. B for letting me into the inner circle! If you ever come here, I'll make you a double mug o' chocky heaven!(Going visit your blog again shortly.)

So glad I never bothered with a microwave. That, and the fact that I am without most of the ingredients, will keep me on the straight and narrow... sure looks good, though. /Deb

Angie Ledbetter said...

Rachel, I'm trying to keep myself on a tight leash, but it's gonna be hard come Thursday!

Angie, so glad you stopped by! I've been praying and will continue.

I think you're smart, Deb!

I know it's the name of a dessert, but I really think if Death by Chocolate was a way to die, then when I die, that's how I want to go...

Colby, ditto.
