Week Ahead: Sunshine with a Slight Chance of Rain

What's your week ahead looking like? If you were a meteorologist, what kind of weather would you forecast for yourself? (You can see my prediction in the title heading.)

We're creeping toward the end of September, and in Louisiana that means we're still in the Hot Zone. But instead of enjoying summer at the beach, lake, park, or even in some swank vacation spot (Ha), now we're sweating in the sauna-like conditions while watching and/or tailgating for school, college and professional football on weekends. [Please excuse the PSA, but...GEAUXXXX TIGERS! -- That's for LSU fans the world over.]

So, here's the coming week's breakdown, in case you want to feel better about your own life and schedule *grin*.
Note: Calendar items are not all-inclusive, and are subject to multiple changes, rerouting, and crises:
  • Monday: Write Year of Gratitude blog entry; clean up the pigsty from daughter's LSU football party; grocery shop; do editing work; make a dentist appointment (chipped a piece off a molar *shiver*); grocery shop; cook ahead for the week; spend the night at parents (Mondays and Thursdays are my nights to help out, and I enjoy it.)
  • Tuesday: Possible lunch with a school mom friend; my new semester of poetry class may resume tonight if the professor is able to reoccupy her house since Gustav wrecked her neighborhood, if not, a cousin may be having a family prayer group meeting launch; pay bill for youngest son's trombone lessons; edit; work on weekly writing goals; housework junk.
  • Wednesday: Errand day; wash clothes (not that I don't do that pretty much every day...but midweek, I have to make sure kids have enough school uniforms to get through Friday); attend middle child's Senior Parent Picnic; edit, watch Project Runway with Mom.
  • Thursday: What? Nothing on my calendar? Now, that's spooky. Spend the night at parents.
  • Friday: YOG blog entry post; send out submissions; edit. It's TGIF...whoopie. LOL. Oh, check and see if there's a school football game tonight. If so, sell raffle tickets.
  • Saturday: Run away and get in some R&R. Remember, Moms -- the last one out of the house on the weekend loses!

I'll leave you with this thought: If you don't write your own forecast, you might be depending on someone like this to do it for you -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHq03UqJhNE

Good morning!

Here's my week:
Sunday-- be in a daze

Monday--be in a daze

Tues - daze lifts, look about going "huh wha?"

Wed - back in daze

Thursday - panic, so much to do, lost Sun - Wed, run around in circles in a panic

Friday - say "where'd the week go?"

Saturday - do a weeks worth of stuff in one day of clarity.

My forecast predicts sunshine with a slight possibility of afternoon thunderstorms. I have lots of submissions out, so I say this in hopes of being optimistic but in keeping with the possibility that...

Sleep, work, practice, scouts,
eat, church.
That about does it. With kiddos away at college, we have gotten into a bit of a rut.

Nice to have a busy week ahead! My days and evenings are always busy... but I have a special evening on Tuesday.. A group of us formed a choreography committee for our annual variety show 4 years ago... and have been going out for wings and beer periodically ever since. We are going again on Tuesday... because one of our number has been diagnosed with the big C... 7 or 8 months is the forecast. So, you see, it's very important that we have fun on Tuesday.

I'm not much of a planner but I hope my week goes better than the last one.

Edit, edit, and more edit. Plus the usual cook, clean, and laundry. Plus try to figure out where in the world all this dust comes from . . .

You're a smart weather woman, Colby.

Oren, one mans' rut is another man's paradise.

Travis, if you give up your plan to try the criminal life (from your last post), you'll do well.

Tut-tut, I figured out the dust riddle! It's made by all the single socks running around the house looking for their mates. ;)

Oh, Shamm, so sorry to hear. It IS important to have fun with your group, and as often as you can all gather. Hoping it's a beautiful day and night with not a cloud in the sky!

What's up with all this organizational poo-poo of late? Are you having some sort of mid life crisis? Do I need to call someone? I am with Kat-Mag....DAZED AND CONFUZED!!! ;0)

Carrie, so glad you dropped by. I'm a big fan of your blog. Always so interesting, and it never fails to make me smile. Oh, what a lucky mom you are to have such a smart son!!! ;)

LOL, PW...which should stand for "Pretty Weird" instead of Paper Whisperer. *snirk* Nooooo, I'm not nesting during menopause, FYI, I'm just trying to have order in ONE little corner of my life. It's kinda like if I can keep one chair in the livingroom clutter-free, it makes me feel like not such a failure. L.O.V.E. your blog, goil.

Still chuckling at the "scurvy knave" of a weatherman. Mine is a loosey-goosey sort of schedule that includes writing, blogging, pet care, helping Mom with her lawn and gardens, tending to mine, errands, as little cleaning as is humanly possible, work and teaching a garden class. Let's say, enough to keep me from straying off the straight and narrow. Enjoyed reading through all the responses. ~Deb

Deb, you definitely need to schedule in some down time! But I bet digging in the garden is soul-restoring.
