Yay, it's Saturday and a world of opportunities and fun things to do await! What do you have planned? Nothing, you say? Well, if you're looking for something different, how about something from this list?
- Go to a lake, pond or other beautiful body of water and bring along your stale bread or crackers to feed the ducks. Have a blanket, a picnic lunch and a good book, and you've got a nice few hours ahead of you. And if you're feeling kindhearted, why not pick up some trash scarring the landscape before you leave?
- Football game in town? Even if not, invite some friends over and do some real tailgating LSU Tiger style! http://www.tigertailgating.com/ {Lists some great tips & recipes.}
- If it's rainy, nasty or cold outside, maybe you can get a jump on holiday shopping before the malls and shops become unbearable nightmares teeming with people who don't even remember what the Christmas Spirit is.
- Or catch a movie you've been wanting to see. Here's a good list to browse: http://movies.msn.com/movies/top-box-office/?vendor=google&pkw=top%20movies&ocid=iSEM_G_Ent&refcd=go552B_top%20movies&mtcr=go1266980922&
- Unplug the phones, kick back and take a long nap with your sound machine playing your favorite white noise.
Can you guess which Saturday fun thing I'm planning on doing? What about you? Feel free to add to the list of suggestions!

I need you as my social director here! My saturday--shopping at Publix for coffee and sales items... and maybe baking a nice apple pie. Really exciting, huh?
I am trying to decide what I want to do - work, play, laze around - the lazying around sounds nice today -- a gorgeous day on the mountain and the tourists going home so it should be quiet!
Sorry if this shows up twice...
Thanks for the great Saturday suggestions. We have a Saturday tradition of Starbucks and bathing "the girls". I have to put in a few hours at work, but do do hope to make it over to Barnes and Noble for a book browzing fix.
Terri, try to squeeze in a little Me time today, okay?
Maybe a little of both, Kathryn? Browsing and napping...ah!
Linda, sounds good. Hope you make it to your book browzing too.
We're having lunch out today and perhaps a trip to the Christian Book and Gift Center.
Have a great day!!
Have you seen The Secret Life of Bees? It had been long enough since I read the book that I was able to enjoy the movie without that disappointing "I know what happens next" feeling.
Pick up your favorite hobby and do some work-- for me, its scrapbooking
Watch the UGA game, of course :-)
Barbara, sounds like you have a nice day planned out. Hope the weather cooperates too.
Written, no haven't read it yet, but just purchased it so I can BEFORE I see it, which will probably be on DVD. Know what you mean about being disappointed in the film version. Our imaginations are so much richer than what's projected on the screen. :)
Have fun little Scrappy-do Colby!
My saturday was spent printing out my manuscript, spending a fortune at the office supply store, and then visit the post office to mail it all off. So, not thrilling. Although if this agent offers me representation, this could go down as one of the most important Saturdays of my life!
Now I'm off for some yoga. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Thank you for great ideas. My Saturday was spent just recooperating from Halloween and typing until my fingers nearly bled...overall...a pretty good Saturday.
Angie ~ Very nice ideas; however, my Saturday (and that of my little dog, too!) was spent working at the garden center... actually a pleasant way to spend a brisk, sunny day. It was a good chance to snap lots of seasonal photos, while on "Lucy breaks," and let my mind wander to upcoming writing projects. ~ Deb
Rachel, WOW, you go! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you and saying a few prayers.
Got a lot done for NaNo, eh, Ang? Congrats and keep typing.
Deb, sounds like a great weekend plan. I always enjoy the fruits of your photographic labor. :)
The pic of the dalmatian is priceless. I think I'll read.
barrie, it's my fav too since I love a good nap.
